Broken "Rainbow"/Missing Icons

Dead by Daylight 8.6.1 introduced a bug which sometimes causes icons to display a "rainbow" missing icon texture.

While we wait (and hope for) Behaviour to fix it properly, you can work around it in various ways:

  • Clicking one of the affected icons
  • Typing in the search box
  • Swapping loadouts

Basically, most things which cause the inventory screen to change will sort it.

How long it stays sorted for seems to vary, as does who it affects. Reoccurrences seem to depend on when the game decides to unload the icons, but there unfortunately doesn't seem to be any way for us to influence it. Perhaps it's trying to display the files before they are fully read from the disk? Who knows.
